Why not take a trip to Margate and visit the new photographic exhibition at the Turner Contemporary
Its Titled RESISTANCE and is curated by Steve McQueen. Its shows images across the decades from the suffragette movement to the Aids demonstrations. It contains an large number of images and it is fascinating to see a single subject matter that crosses such a time period and the comparison of the people in the images and the photographic style across this time span . Its free to get in plus you can also have a wander around Margate which is a great place to shoot. The cafe at the turner is great for a coffee and a cake.
The exhibition is compelling in all sorts of ways. As social history, as documentary, as eye-witness report and as remembering, whether it is of the unemployment marches of the 1930s or the protests against the overwhelming silence surrounding the deaths of 13 young people in a house fire in New Cross in 1981.
