ABOUT - LENSClof
I am Ian Howard and have been a passionate photographer for many years. I live in Kent UK with my long suffering wife Hazel. My journey as a photographer has taken me through a long learning process. I have covered most aspects of a being an amateur through to semi-Pro then to Pro photographer. Experiencing along the way camera clubs, competitions, weddings, commercial shoots, talks, lectures, tuition, art sales on line sales and web sites.
My aim is to share my learnings and frustrations from this journey, I have often found most web sites did not cater for people on such journey and they made a good job of saying very little!
I hope you find this site helpful and fun, I am sure it will improve over time so stay with me an i hope i can give you some help as you develop as a photographer.
I will use this site to show the work that I have done and share the experiences I have had.
Currently I am spending a significant portion of my time delivering talks to camera clubs which has taken off for me in a huge way this year and the diary for the coming year is filling up fast. I have also been invited to judge for a number of clubs which has also been highly rewarding.
Awards
Digital Photographer of the Year ( Three Times Nominated)
I have twice been runner up in leading photography magazine competitions to find their digital photographer of the year. It was disappointing not to win on each occasion but still a great honour to have come so close from the thousands of entries. Maybe it will be third time lucky to win the big prize!
Daily Telegraph "Big Picture" Travel Photography Competition
The prize for the competition winner was a digital camera and a half page spread in the Saturday edition of the Daily Telegraph.
John Lewis Travel Photography Competition
This was the first competition I won as a photographer with a stunning photograph of the Bramante staircase in the Vatican in Rome.
Photographic Competitions
I have also won another 10 international photography competitions which attract thousands of entries.
Kent Life Magazine - British Countryside Photography Competition
Very pleasing to win the Kent leg of this competition and have a full feature article on my photography in the subsequent edition
